Google TV app redesign with the all-new Highlights news feed starts rolling out, arriving real soon to its users.
Google TV App
The renowned search engine firm, Google, has previously confirmed that a massive redesign of its Google TV app is coming our way.
The announcement straight from the tech giant last March further disclosed that Google TV is gaining a new news feed function that goes by the name Highlights.
The firm said a few months back that the redesign of the said app is generally part of the overall restructuring of Google TV.
Google TV App 'Highlights'
As per a blog post from the support page of Google TV, the new version of its mobile app in the United States introduces an all-new "Highlights" tab.
A product support manager from Google revealed that the latest update with "Highlights" brings tons of exciting changes to the app.
Essentially, the new tab houses "a personalized feed that offers news, reviews, and more based on movies and shows" that its users might be interested in. Google appears to be bringing more personalization to its TV Android app.
The support page post further said that "Highlights" helps its users "to find out more about the entertainment" that its users would likely enjoy.
It should also help those who use the Google TV app on their Android smartphone to get acquainted with other movies and TV shows similar to what the tech giant thinks they love.
The new tab brings an editorialized feed, bringing the latest news, review, and related articles, exclusively on entertainment, which the algorithm of Google says its users are likely enthralled to see.
Google TV App Redesign
Apart from the new Highlights feature, Google TV also comes with newly redesigned tabs, which is still part of its restructuring.
According to the latest report by 9to5Google, the Android app now comes with an all-new For you tab, which used to be known as "Home."
The "For you," which sits right next to the "Highlights" news feed button, works much like how the tab dubbed as "Home" does.
There's also a new "Your Stuff" tab, which combines what was previously separately referred to as "Watchlist" and "Library."
What's more, it also has a "Shop" tab, which as its name suggests houses all the purchasable shows and movies on the app. Google TV killed the "Movies & TV" section to bring all of its features to "Shop."
