Reuters first reported the action of Google in its Russia office, and it focuses on declaring bankruptcy for its subsidiary branch in the country. There are many reasons why Google is pulling out of Russia, and one of them is the ongoing conflict that it faces now.

Additionally, the Russian office is closed due to its initial service interruption in the country, and many people may be left without jobs after this happens.

The report said that Russia already froze the bank assets of Google in the country, and it is also a significant reason why the Russian office cannot function during this time.

The freezing of its accounts made it hard for them to continue its financial obligations and ventures of Google Russia, hence this move to file for bankruptcy.

Google Already Pulled Out Service, Now its Office

According to The Verge, over the past months, Google already suspended or halted its services in Russia, and many of its functions like the Play Store, YouTube, Google News, and more are already non-operational.

The continued dispute against Google now resulted in its Russia office to also close down and filing for bankruptcy.

Russia and Ukraine Crisis

One of the earliest news this year is the erupting crisis between Russia and Ukraine, specifically with the takeover that happened in the country that has the entire world shocked. Many companies pulled out its services and support for the country, and one of them is Google which first disabled its advertisements to run in Russia.

Another action by Google is to temporarily disable the editing options for its Maps set for Ukraine and surrounding regions, as it too may be used in favor of the conflict. People in the country reported that they are included in the war, despite them minding their own business and staying as far away from it as possible.

Google's action even went as far as disabling the use of its news aggregator in Russia.

The Russian and Ukrainian crisis is still massive event that is happening in the world, and many companies got affected by them in the past few months. Google's Russian subsidiary office is one of them, and its decision to pull out from the country is a massive move, especially as it already lost more than it gained.
