The American multinational manufacturer confirmed this detail during a press conference last May 17.

"Today it's an exciting time for a NASA and commercial crew as we bring on our second space transportation system uh to the international space station," said Steve Stich, NASA's Commercial Crew Program Manager.

Boeing Starliner Completes All Tests

According to SciTech Daily's latest report, the airplane developer aims to launch its Starliner on May 19, at around 6:54 p.m. EDT.

If this is successful, then Boeing will be able to complete its Orbital Flight Test-2 (OFT-2). As of writing, weather experts said that there's a 70% chance of favorable weather during the upcoming launch.

When it comes to preparation, Mark Nappi, Boeing Commercial Crew Program's Vice President, confirmed that they were able to complete all the necessary rocket tests.

These include ensuring the hatch is closed, as well as checking that all the valves are operational. He added that the Starliner spacecraft is in good shape.

Since all the tests were successful, Boeing Starliner's engineers are expecting that the OFT-2 launch will have no issue.

Boeing Starliner's Failed Attempt

Boeing Starliner's first launch attempt back in 2019 was a failed one. The issue happened when the rocket's boosters failed to fire properly due to a faulty clock.

The airplane company decided to try another space launch in 2021. But, the corroded valves delayed the spaceflight since the repair was needed.

Now, Boeing will try it again. If you want to watch the upcoming OFT-2 mission launch to the ISS, you can visit NASA TV.

The international space union will also cover a postlaunch news conference involving NASA, Boeing, and United Launch Alliance officials.

On the other hand, the 2022 Humans To Mars Summit is now happening.

Meanwhile, MIT's new self-rearranging space station is expected to be better than the International Space Station.
