Disney's subscription-based platform, "Disney+" will soon release its ad-supported version that will bring a cheaper price for the public, and it will not necessarily push in more advertisements while running. Reports are claiming that Disney+ plans to release only four minutes of ads per one-hour show or film, and it would be short for the subscribers' entertainment needs.
Disney+ Ads Are Short, Four Minutes Only for One Hour Shows
The Wall Street Journal reported that Disney+ is planning to push out four minutes of advertisements on its one-hour shows, and the time would vary depending on the running time of each title. The report said that its offers for an ad-supported version are a short time for users, especially as other platforms bring more than its time.
Variety said that HBO Max follows the same time for its advertisement showcase for its cheaper plan, with only four minutes per hour. On the other hand, Peacock offers five minutes of ads for its one-hour shows.
Another Disney-owned platform, Hulu, has a longer ad running time as it pushes out nine to 12 ads an hour for the duration of the stream.
Disney+ Ad-Supported Version: When is it Coming?
There are no exact dates for the new plan of Disney+ to bring its ad-supported version, but the reports say that the company will release it this year. The public will all get a chance to renew their subscription and opt for the ad-supported version for a cheaper subscription, and it would not have overbearing ads.
The feature would also be available on Disney+'s adult content only, as the kid version would not be affected by ads.
Ad-Supported Versions for Streaming Platforms
Many streaming platforms went ahead and talked about how they would add an ad-supported version to their plans for the public to utilize. It will help by providing a cheaper alternative to its price list and give people a more affordable subscription that will only take a short amount of time to disrupt their viewing experience.
Netflix is among these companies that provided their plans to venture into advertisements on the platform and help subscribers pay less with its subscription offers. Disney's Hulu subscription platform also brings ads to users, and some would play when they pause the film or series, while some ads will run while it is streaming.
Advertisements are available mostly on free streaming platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and other video-related content online.
Now, a new subscription company is focusing its streaming to showcase advertisements to selected partners that may insert brands or information from their shows on a streamer's content. Good thing is that Disney+ is offering a low running time for ads to utilize the other time to stream its shows and provide a streamlined experience.
