Disney Plus is facing an accidental glitch that removed several episodes of fan-favorite tv shows from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel properties in countries like the U.S. and Australia.
Where are the episodes?
The streaming platform's subscribers have noticed that some of their favorite shows, such as Hannah Montana, The Wizards of Waverly Place, and Once Upon a Time, have been missing random episodes for the past few days.
What's on Disney Plus reported that they received multiple reports from their Facebook group regarding the disappearance of episodes from shows such as:
- Hannah Montana
- Ducktales
- Once Upon A Time
- X-Men And The Wolverine
- Ultimate Spider-Man
- Agent Carter
- Big City Greens
- The Proud Family
- Austin & Ally
- Big Hero 6
- The Wizards Of Waverley Place
- Bizaardvark
- Lab Rats Elite Force
- Marvel Rising
- Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
- The Owl House
- The Shake It Up
- The Little Mermaid
- TaleSpin
- Just Roll With It
- Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles
- The Replacements
- The Simpsons
- Andi Mack
- The Muppets
- Darkwing Duck
- Bluey
- Rocket and Groot
- And many more
After Disney Plus users raised awareness on the issue via Twitter and several social media platforms, Disney confirmed that it was indeed a technical glitch on their part.
"We are actively working to resolve the issue impacting access to a subset of series episodes for some Disney+ subscribers," a company spokesperson said to Tech Crunch.
"We are sorry for the experience and appreciate everyone's patience," the company added.
Available to other countries
Disney Plus subscribers first noticed that the beginning episode for "The Little Mermaid" was missing even though it is available for streaming on Youtube and Google Play. According to Tech Crunch, "TaleSpin" was also missing two episodes, "Just Roll With It" had a missing Bloopers episode, and "The Replacements" lacked an entire season.
However, What's On Disney Plus reported that the missing episodes for such shows were still available on the streaming platform for countries like the U.K., hence they are not completely removed.
Meanwhile, an episode of "Darkwing Duck" called "Hot Spells" was missing in Disney Plus U.S., but it is still available in countries such as Thailand and Malaysia.
The streaming platform has had a history of technical mistakes, such as recent instances when edited versions were interchanged in for several Marvel Netflix shows before they were eventually fixed. A few weeks ago, they accidentally added adult-rated films on their U.S. service.
As of writing, some of the episodes are now resurfacing while Disney continues to fix the problem.
