Copper Founder Wants to Connect Book Lovers, Authors, and Fans Through an App

Having a dedicated app for bibliophiles and authors is a dream for book fans.

You might be wondering why there are various social media apps for gaming, marketing, and other stuff, but none of them come across in connecting authors with the readers.

According to a report by Techcrunch, Allison Trowbridge, the founder of Copper shares her plan to establish a book-focused platform for everyone.

On this platform, fans can make strong connections with their favorite authors. In addition, they can also engage in different life events and other forums.

Trowbridge says she wants to launch virtual events for writers who want to earn income via online streams. In this way, their books will be promoted and marketed to a bigger audience.

She likens the platform to other popular apps, including Spotify, Twitch, SoundCloud, and Etsy. All these platforms have specific target consumers, but the ones she's building will focus solely on linking people together through books.

What to Expect For This Book Platform

Since Copper wants to bring more connections across this book-centered platform, Trowbridge says that discussions similar to FaceTime can take place here with authors on the lead. They can also keep in touch with their fans through the threads and answer their questions about them.

It should be noted that the app is set for a late 2022 release for fans and authors. However, users can opt-out of the premium app version with exclusive features for paid subscribers.

More people are indeed reading books each year because access has been easier online. However, it's not yet enough for the authors to sell their books.

The platform that Copper envisions should transform writing into a full-time career. If that's the case, many writers will strive hard in hopes of getting their work published on popular sites.

As of writing, the Copper beta app is now available on iOS with a waitlist of over 6,000 users. Techcrunch writes that half of them are book authors.

At the end of the day, Trowbridge aims to achieve one goal for book enthusiasts and the like--bringing its own brand of "Instagram for book lovers."

Tips to Search For an Online Book Club

If you are serious about reading or writing your own book, you can begin by finding a book club online. According to Wired, there are several tips that you can do to look for a club teeming with book readers like you.

The first one is to explore different book platforms so you can interact with other bibliophiles and influencers. You also need to assess a specific book club that aligns with your interest.

The source also notes that you should focus on connections if you're just getting started. You need to go out and roam around the virtual book clubs to meet new people outside your circle.

Once you're done doing it, you can now search for the new books that pique your interest. This is the time when you want to chat with your favorite book influencers in the community.

There are instances when you won't find an ideal book club for you. In this case, we recommend you build your own club and from there, improve your reach to other people about your platform.
