iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 2 are now the latest Apple vintage products. But, what does it mean to be included in the tech manufacturer's vintage list?
Apple currently has two lists for its old gadgets. These are the vintage list and obsolete list. Devices that are not distributed or sole for more than five years but less than seven years are included in the vintage category.
On the other hand, Apple gadgets that are no longer offered for more than seven years are categorized as obsolete products.
iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 2 Now Vintage Products!
According to MacRumors' latest report, iPad Air 2 was first launched in October 2014. Meanwhile, the iPad Mini 2 was first offered back in November 2013.
Apple decided to stop distributing these tablets around 2017. Because of this, they are now included in the company's vintage product list.
Owners with iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 2 can still rely on Apple for service and parts of their old gadgets, as required by law.
However, the repairs will still be subject to change since fixing or servicing these devices will depend if Apple still has the needed hardware parts.
"Products may obtain service and parts from Apple service providers, including Apple Retail Stores and Independent Repair Providers, for a minimum of 5 years from when Apple last distributed the product for sale," said the iPhone maker via its official blog post.
