As per a news story by Mashable, the latest price drop of the 9.7 inches iPad, which as mentioned is refurbished, is a deal that suits the Earth Day occasion.

April 22 or globally known as Earth Day encourages the whole world to at least focus their minds on taking care of the environment of our home planet.

Although tech, in general, is somewhat an Earth-killer as most old and obsolete devices just end up in landfills, there's a solution to be more environmentally friendly.

These days, the cycle of tech devices has gone to the extreme, releasing a new generation almost every year.

However, refurbishing has become a new way to put life to older generation devices, making them appear like it is brand new again.

It is not just a sure way to save money when purchasing your devices, it also helps free up the landfills on Earth.

One of the best deals for refurbished products is Apple devices, making their prices more accessible with a brand new feel. But there are some compromises as their specs are more akin to the entry-level tablets we see these days.

Mashable spotted a refurbished iPad with a steal price tag of only $179.99. That's an Apple tablet for literally less than $200, pulling down its original retail cost by almost a half.

The $179.99 iPad is none other than the 6th generation iPad, which first saw the light of day during the pre-pandemic days in 2018. Back then, it hit the shelves with a price tag of $329.

6th-Gen iPad: What to Expect

When the Cupertino-based tech giant launched the 6th-gen iPad, it was a game-changer in the tablet scene.

It not only featured blazing fast performance with its A10 Fusion chip, but it also boasted a reliable 10-hour battery life.

That said, it could handle playing games and suits those Netflix binge-watch sessions without needing to be plugged in right away.

On top of that, the less than $200 refurbished iPad sports a 2048x1536 resolution LED screen. But do take note that it also comes with massive bezels as way back in 2018, it wasn't that much of an issue.

Nevertheless, it comes with support for Touch ID and Apple Pay. It features two cameras - a 1.2-megapixel selfie snapper and an 8-megapixel rear sensor.

The refurbished model rocks a space gray look, which exclusively sells at Walmart.
