Recently, some scientists warned that the world should make efforts to reduce carbon emissions as climate change worsens.

Because of this, Apple and other tech giant manufacturers are now finding different ways to generate revenues while lessening their carbon emissions.

On the other hand, Back Market has a different way to make gadget purchasing more eco-friendly. Here's what it did with the Apple store.

According to ZDNet's latest report, Back Market's latest eco-friendly gadget purchase promotion, a refurbished company, made some Apple consumers quite happy.

Back Market posted a YouTube video of its latest green effort, generating more than 5.4 million views.

In the video, you will see that the displayed iPhone products on the Apple store are suddenly receiving AirDrop messages. Here's what the messages project:

  • "Did you know this iPhone is available in white, black, blue, and greener?"
  • "It's time to go refurbished with a cheaper and greener model."

Aside from the affected display iPhones, the Apple smartphones of store visitors also received the AirDrop messages.

What is Back Market?

Back Market is a leading marketplace for renewed or refurbished gadgets. One of its most in-demand products is Apple devices.

When you say refurbished, a gadget is already used but made into a brand new device by a company. Back Market said its main goal is to make refurbished products more in demand.
