Getting a PS5 a year ago was a challenge for those customers who aspire to own an advanced gaming machine. The issue does not only revolve around the semiconductor shortage but as well around the supply-chain issues which are still hitting several tech firms.

As for Sony, the store is well-known for its reputation of hosting invite-only PS5 restocks.

However, The Verge acknowledged that the prominent retailer has done a rare feat this week: publicly opening its store for PS5 restock for the people.

According to the tech publication, the store has recently conducted a direct selling of the PS5 units in both digital and disc versions. For those who have tested their luck on this shop, they were able to purchase the Digital Edition for just $399 while others managed to buy disc-based units for $499.

During the event, you don't have to worry about the long online queue anymore. There's no need for endless refreshes on the landing page once you enter the website. The only thing you need to do is to wait for a slot that you can use after the expiration of the countdown.

PS5 Restock Rumors

The major PS5 restock at Sony seems to be a successful run for the store. In case you could not catch up with it, there are a lot of retailers that you might want to visit to potentially score a console.

According to Tom's Guide, Amazon and Walmart are the latest stores to drop PlayStation 5 units besides Sony. However, Target has announced that there will be a huge change regarding the PS5 console sales.

For clarification, the popular US retailer will now let the individual stores sell the PS5 consoles once they obtain them. This means that it will no longer conduct PlayStation 5 restock events soon.

As for GameStop, there's good news for fans who regularly come into this store. We assume that the next batch of PS5 restock will finally land at this store on Saturday, April 23.

It should be noted that you need to have a PowerUp Reward Pro membership to take advantage of this event. In addition, it is expected to be an in-store drop only so you need to be early at GameStop during that day.
