Verizon Wireless Outage: US Customers Find a Fix to Restore Mobile Service

Verizon Wireless customers are complaining about the sudden outage that they are experiencing on their mobile devices. According to the people, they could not make or receive calls on their end as of Wednesday, Apr. 20.

However, some users have found a way to address this issue by restarting their devices, as per the Verizon Support team's recommendation.

According to a report by CNET, US-based customers reportedly noticed that there's a problem with the mobile service. Many complaints have flooded the platform on Tuesday, Apr. 19 about the issue.

The following day at 4:50 PM ET, Down Detector notes that over 23,000 concerns have been raised regarding the Verizon wireless downtime.

It should be noted that many of the reports came from several cities including Los Angles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Sacramento, Denver, Seattle, and New York. Other concerns have hailed from Philadelphia, DC, Atlanta, and Minneapolis.

In response to this issue, Verizon Support tweeted out that the problem has been impacting the voice calls for some mobile service users. With that being said, the team starts to address the concern on the network and look for the potential cause of the outage.

"Our engineers are engaged, and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue," Verizon said.

In addition, US Cellular, another mobile network operator which relies on Verizon's network has been affected by the downtime, as well.

Verizon Outage Hits Emergency Services

In another story written by 8NewsNow, the outage was not only limited to mobile service downtime. The tech publication notes that it has also hit emergency services across the country.

For instance, the 911 services are fully functional, according to a tweet by the Clovis Police Department. However, they were unable to call back for hangups from their mobile devices because of the ongoing outage.

Furthermore, Verizon Support says that the outage was attributed to the "fiber issue."

With that in mind, the network operator urged its customers to restart their devices if they are still experiencing some problems on their part.

Even before the announcement from Verizon came, some users quickly found a fix to the problem by doing the same method.

Meanwhile, a case of a potential data heist had taken place on Verizon last month. According to Tech Times, the company notified all users to be careful with every text that they are receiving on their mobile phones.

The self-spamming texts can be a part of a wide-scale phishing campaign initiated by an unknown group of cybercriminals.
