Rumors are starting to spread regarding the potential delay of "Genshin Impact" 2.7 and finally, a spokesperson from HoYoverse has given a response. Sadly, no clear answer was given regarding when the new version is expected to launch.

According to an article by ComicBook, a HoYoverse spokesperson gave a response to queries regarding whether or not the game's version 2.7 is going to be delayed. When asked whether or not the rumors are accurate, the spokesperson acknowledged that there has been widespread discussion regarding the new version's release date, saying they are now doing their best when it comes to "working on the game and future updates."

The story by Gamepur notes that usually, the game gets brand new updates every six weeks, which give players a constant schedule to look forward to. Certain circumstances, however, could lead to Genshin Impact's next version being delayed.

According to the publication, the reason behind the delay might be due to the pandemic's restrictions.

Traveling Merchant Expected to Launch on May 6 to May 13 with Rumors Pointing Towards Xiao and Arati Itto Re-Run Banner

The traveling merchant event is expected to last from May 6 to May 13 immediately after the official Leyline event doubling rewards gamers are able to claim.

The Leyline event, however, was initially supposed to be the "Genshin Impact" version 2.6 final event. As seen on Reddit, the leak is stating that a re-run banner for Xiao and Arataki Itto is being planned last minute in order to bridge the gap between the current version and the upcoming 2.7.

Battle Pass Experience Requirements Support Delay Rumors

To support this rumor, fans were pointing out that the Battle Pass experience requirements were decreased during the beta test of the 2.7. This could mean that players would no longer have enough time to complete it due to the delay of the new version.

While Genshin Impact has gained extreme popularity around the world, the game still originates in China. As per leakers and players, the COVID situation in Shanghai, China could be the main reason why the upcoming "Genshin Impact" version 2.7 will be delayed.
