It is official. Twitter is not having Elon Musk as a social media company board member, and the CEO declined this offer after the CEO and other members gave it. CEO Parag Agrawal confirmed this online, and the tweeted announcement told the story of what happened to the appointment of the tech billionaire.

Twitter's board of directors officially gave the board member position to Musk on Saturday, April 9. Still, Agrawal said that the CEO declined it the same morning after the CEO told him. Agrawal further said that the members thoroughly evaluated Musk's induction to the board and their offer of a seat to the Tesla CEO, stating there were risks in this move.

Twitter's Top Shareholder is still Elon Musk

Nevertheless, the board members and its shareholders will continue to work together to act toward the company's best interests, as it is their role as the executives. Musk did not comment about him turning down the board seat, despite tweeting about the Twitter HQ for homeless people last Sunday and conversing with Jeff Bezos regarding the matter.

Elon Musk and Twitter

Just last week, the billionaire has a lot of plans for Twitter, and the public saw this over the past weeks that the billionaire has shown on the platform, where he tweeted about many changes he aims to make with the company. One of the most talked-about things he said was the Twitter name change that he did a poll about, with many responses agreeing with the tech mogul.

Another significant change to Twitter asked about the company's largest shareholder was the edit button for every tweet that a user will make or publish in their usage. It will help avoid deleting a tweet to fix a typo or clarify what they want to impart to the audience whenever they publicize their thoughts or announcements.

Twitter said it planned the edit button way before Musk came on board.

There are many things that the company and public expect to change now that there is someone who owns a massive share of social media. Musk joining the team and being the eccentric executive he is, there are many indications that there will be new things for the company. However, he will serve this role as a shareholder and not a board member.
