Twitch's "Silent Reading" category was among its April Fools Day release, wherein a dedicated section of the video-sharing platform showcases streaming silently reading their books--as the name clearly suggests.
Twitch New Categories
As per a news story by The Loadout, Twitch released other new categories just in time for the April Fools, such as Just Chatting, Literally, Chores, Silent Reading, Odd Jobs, Character Creation, and Pizza Time.
Twitch teased its new April Fools categories on its official Twitter account, saying that it is "excited to launch five new categories you can watch and stream to."
Twitch 'Silent Reading' Category
As mentioned, One of which is a "Silent Reading" category on Twitch, wherein streamers were to live stream while they are reading literary pieces without saying anything to their viewers.
According to a recent report by PC Gamer, a Twitch user streamed a video under the "Silent Reading" category for an hour.
The Twitch streamer, Merry Kish, was seen in the video titled "Just Readin" holding a book while sitting in a plush chair. She also wore headphones while she was silently immersing herself in the hardbound copy of "Lovesickness: Junji Ito Story Collection" that she had in her hands.
PC Gamer said in the same report that the "Just Readin" live stream got more than 2,000 views. But as of writing, the one-hour video of a Twitch user reading a book has already amassed more than a whopping 55,000 viewers.
Meanwhile, the chat section on the "Just Readin" stream only allowed other Twitch folks to send emojis, allowing them to react to her while she's reading the hardbound book in deafening silence.

Twitch April Fools Category
On top of that, there were other April Fools Twitch categories that also had tons of new streams under it.
Another new category on Twitch is known as Pizza Time, wherein a user that goes by the name PizzaPrincessG showcased her skills at making pizza from scratch in the New York restaurant that she owns.
On the other hand, as it turns out, streams under the Odd Jobs and Errands category are not actually following what Twitch intends to have, wherein its users will be streaming mundane tasks. Instead, some are streaming games under it.
