Canadian Tesla testers are now complaining about a new FSD bug that prevents them from accessing the popular autonomous feature. The affected consumers are specifically located in Toronto, the largest city in Canada.
Recently, the giant automaker launched the Full Self-Driving Beta into some Canadian EV markets. Tesla did this by releasing the software version via over-the-air installations.
The error message that the affected Canadian Tesla testers are the following:
- Autosteer temporarily unavailable.
- Full Self-Driving unavailable at the current location.
Canadian Tesla Testers Suffer From FSD Bug
According to Driving CA's latest report, Canadians are hoping that the advanced Tesla FSD will soon arrive in their locations.
Right the autonomous feature is only available to certain Tesla testers. Those who were able to use it see around 98% to 100% safety score on their Tesla Safety Score application.
However, not all Canadian Tesla testers are lucky, especially those residing in Toronto.
"Why is Downtown Toronto geofrenced off for FSD Beta. It's the best training ground," said a Toronto resident.
He even tagged Elon Musk and Andrej Karpathy, the current Tesla Director of Artificial Intelligence and Autopilot Vision.
Elon Musk Blames Toronto Streetcars
Since many Canadian Tesla testers are asking why the bug is happening, Elon Musk decided to answer their questions. However, his response is not actually pertaining to a new bug.
The billionaire said that the issue involves the Toronto streetcars. The popular tech CEO explained that the current Tesla Full Self-Driving feature is still having a hard time handling the cars in the giant city.
Since the Canadian Tesla testers are also tagging Karpathy, Musk said that the AI director is actually on a 4-month sabbatical (paid leave).
With his statement, it seems like the FSD issue in Toronto will take time since Karpathy is not working yet. If you are one of the affected Canadian Tesla testers, the best thing you can do right now is to wait for Elon Musk's further announcements.
Last week, a new Tesla OTA update was launched since some Model S and Model X experienced a rearview display issue.
On the other hand, Elon Musk also announced some new improvements in the Tesla FSD Beta v10.12.
