Tesla Gigafactory Shanghai is pausing its production yet again as the COVID-19 cases in China continue to skyrocket, causing a city-wide lockdown where the factory is located.
Tesla Giga Shanghai Production Suspended Again
As per a news story by Bloomberg, the EV tech giant of billionaire entrepreneur, Elon Musk, is suspending its production at its Gigafactory Shanghai.
It comes as the local government of the city where the massive plant of Tesla sits is imposing a city-wide lockdown to curb the ongoing surge of COVID-19 cases in its locality.
It is worth noting that the local government of Shanghai is imposing a lockdown on half of the city.
Bloomberg noted in the same report that the city will simultaneously test its people to further prevent the further spread of the novel coronavirus.
To be more precise, the location of the Tesla Giga Shanghai will be on lockdown for up to four days.
On the other hand, the sources of Bloomberg are saying that Giga Shanghai is suspending its production for a single day.
However, other sources are saying that it could last up to four days in total, according to a recent report by Tesla North.
On top of that, a Twitter user that goes by the name Jay In Shanghai said that Tesla is halting its production in Shanghai from March 28 to April 1 due to the full lockdown imposed in its location.
That said, Bloomberg also mentioned in its report that Tesla has yet to tell its employees how long the production pause will take place.

Tesla Giga Shanghai
It is not the first instance that the Tesla Giga Shanghai has been closed temporarily due to the increasing COVID-19 cases in China this year.
Back on March 16, the massive factory of Tesla in the Chinese nation also shut down its production but resumed operations after two days.
The Tesla factory in China will significantly affect the production of the EV maker in the country as it produces numerous vehicles for the American automaker.
In fact, Bloomberg said that the Gigafactory Shanghai produced half of the vehicles of Tesla in 2021, although it is to note that the EV maker has other factories in other regions, such as Europe and North America.
