Tesla Giga Shanghai Goes Back to Production

As per a new story by Reuters, the Shanghai factory of the EV maker, Tesla, is now back to production after halting its operations in the massive auto plant for two days.

An unnamed source of the news outlet claimed that the workers at the Tesla Giga in Shanghai are now back with two-shift production, starting at 7 in the morning in the local time of the Chinese nation.

That said, the Tesla facilities in China are now back to their 24 hours per day operations.

The source, which is said to be close to the matter, added that workers have already returned to their roles in the facilities after they were asked to stay in their nearby residences to get tested for COVID-19.

According to a recent report by Tesla North, the EV maker said earlier that it is already working to resume the operations of its Shanghai factory.

On top of that, the government of China has also imposed local restrictions to avoid the further spread of the virus in the country as it reaches alarming rates.

Tesla reportedly told its employees and suppliers last March 16 that it is suspending its production temporarily.

The decision of Tesla to halt the operations of its Gigafactory in China comes shortly after other massive automakers, such as Volkswagen and Toyota. The two giant firms have also temporarily shut down their facilities due to the raging threat of COVID-19 in the country.

The COVID-19 cases in China have skyrocketed once again, which now beats the all-time high records last 2021.

The spike in new daily cases of the novel coronavirus in China surpassed the numbers during the start of the pandemic way back in March 2020.
