"Dead by Daylight" has already amassed more than 50 million players, according to its developer Behaviour Interactive. Meanwhile, "Dead by Daylight: The Board Game" is currently live on KickStarter.
'Dead by Daylight' 50 Million Players
According to a recent report by USA Today's FTW, the developers of the horror adventure gaming title, 'Dead by Daylight,' boasted on Twitter that it has already surpassed the 50 million user mark.
The official Twitter account of "Dead by Daylight" thanked all of its players, adding that "we hope to see you in the fog!"
The news outlet noted that the latest achievement of the multiplayer horror game is not only an impressive feat for its genre, but it is generally notable in any gaming title out there.
However, it is worth noting, though, that "Dead by Daylight" is not actually competing side-by-side with other massively popular gaming titles. It comes as there are not many well-known asymmetrical multiplayer horror games.
But it is interesting to point out that there are upcoming horror games that could likely rain on the parade of "Dead by "Daylight," such as "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" game.
'Dead by Daylight: The Board Game'
Aside from the success of "Dead by Daylight" as a horror multiplayer title, it is also venturing out to expand as a board game.
As per a recent report by Games Radar, "Dead by Daylight: The Board Game" is now live on Kickstarter, allowing fans of the horror gaming title to pre-order it on the crowdfunding platform.
The new board game "Dead by Daylight" is primarily based on the horror-adventure experience that players of the gaming title enjoy. But, this time around, it is recreated in a new medium.
The standard box of the board game includes up to seven Survivors and six Killer, as well as two maps. It is available for the price of $49.99.
Meanwhile, the Collector's edition, which is more expensive to the tune of $99.99, comes with a total of 17 Survivors, 16 Killers, and four maps. Not to mention that it also includes additional items like an additional hook, along with miniatures of generators.
However, it is worth noting that the board game will only be available for retail in October-just in time for the spooky season. But the Collector's Edition will be at hand at a much later date.
The board game is attempting to crowdsource as much as $250,000 to make the new version of "Dead by Daylight" a reality. Impressively, it has already pocketed a whopping $90,000 in the first hour of the campaign on KickStarter.
