HBO Max introduces a new shuffle button to a select number of series titles on the streaming platform.
HBO Max Shuffle Button
However, the new feature on the streaming service of HBO is unlike the Play Something option on Netflix, wherein it allows users to play series or movies based on their previously watched titles.
On the other hand, as per a news story by Variety, the new shuffle feature on HBO Max lets its users watch some of its TV shows or series by playing random episodes.
For instance, it gives HBO Max subscribers a choice to play random episodes of Friends while they are rewatching the hit sitcom TV series on the streaming service.
It is worth noting, though, that the new shuffle button of HBO Max is only available to select series on the platform, which mostly are animated shows or sitcoms.
On top of that, the new functionality is only available on the desktop version of HBO Max, but it has already rolled out globally.
However, those who are fond of watching their favorite shows on the streaming service have yet to get the shuffle button. If ever they want to experience it, users will have to go straight to their laptops or computers.
The spokesperson of WarnerMedia said that the new shuffle feature of HBO lets users start watching faster, adding that there is an "added element of serendipity.
According to a recent report by The Verge, the shuffle button is not something entirely new in the world of streaming services. In fact, other platforms, namely Amazon and Hulu have previously tested a similar feature.
HBO Max Shows with Shuffle Button
As mentioned earlier, the new shuffle button on the streaming service is only limited to 45 titles on the platform.
It includes classic animated series like "Courage the Cowardly Dog," "Looney Tunes," "Sesame Street," "Tom and Jerry." But newer cartoons also joined the list, such as "Teen Titans Go!," "Rick & Morty," "Adventure Time," and "We Bare Bears."
On top of that, HBO also brings the shuffle button to some of its sitcoms, including "Friends," "The Big Bang Theory," "Young Sheldon," "Full House," "South Park," and "The Office."
That said, HBO Max subscribers could watch these shows in random sequence by simply pressing the shuffle button, which is found beside the play option.
