The PS5 Pro could release within "the next couple of years" according to this new rumor, which also says that the new console will bring "significant improvements" to the already powerful current system.
According to TechRadar, the rumored PS5 Pro release date is scheduled sometime between late 2023 to early-mid 2024. At this point, it would be an almost same-size time gap compared to that of the base PS4 and the PS4 Pro, which lasted three years. Sony released the PlayStation 5 in late 2020.
The information comes from Paul Eccleston, who hosts the YouTube channel RedGamingTech. Eccleston's "sources" say that the rumored PS5 Pro will be more than two times faster than the base PlayStation 5 with ray tracing turned on. Aside from that, he also claims that the new console will be a far better choice for running the next-generation PSVR2.

This rumor, however, seems to fly in the face of the fact that the current-spec PlayStation 5 is still pretty much a unicorn, writes GamesRadar. As such, a theoretical PS5 Pro would've already been in the works for years-perhaps even way before the base PS5 was launched. But if it does exist, the folks at Sony are keeping their cards close to their chests.
WCCFTech gave other details about the rumored PS5 Pro as well, which they say could feature a new AMD chip made on TSMC's 4nm process. Earlier gossip said that the new console's chip will be using 5nm. Furthermore, the new SoC will be based on Team Red's upcoming Zen 4 architecture, which is scheduled to release late this year after being announced during CES 2022 (via Tech Times).
But until Sony themselves come out to confirm the new PlayStation 5 model, take this rumor with a grain of salt.

Speculating About PS5 Pro Specs
As of today, all we have are speculations regarding the power of a PS5 Pro. But maybe we can look at Sony's past console, the PS4, and how much of an upgrade the PS4 Pro was three years after the base model was released.
The base PS4 console was capable of rendering games at 1080p, between 30-60 FPS. But when the PS4 Pro came out, it was billed as a 4K-capable console, a trend which continued to the development and eventual launch of the PS5. Jumping to a resolution four times sharper than previous required a massive hardware jump, which could be something to expect with a PS5 Pro from a base PS5.
Perhaps one of the biggest claims regarding PS5 Pro specs is that it will be 2.5x faster when ray tracing is turned on. Ray tracing is extremely demanding on hardware, which is why all PS5 "Quality" modes that feature it almost always lock the frame rates at 30 FPS. But maybe with a PS5 Pro, ray tracing will not have too much of a performance penalty and games will run at a smoother 60 FPS-or more.
As such, this performance claim could very well depend on the rumored AMD Zen 4 cores that will power the PS5 Pro-if it does exist. For now, all that is left to do is wait.
