CD Projekt Red confirmed that a new "The Witcher" game is in development, and its series will focus on an unknown story from the series and books available. It might be so that it is set in the story's future, and it might not necessarily mean that Geralt of Rivia is an active Witcher in the many lands, or it may not even feature him.

The game developers say that "a new saga begins," and it will focus on a new story for the game franchise. The important thing now is that the developers confirmed a new game for the fans since its last release in 2015.

Seven years have passed since its last game that focused on Geralt's trilogy, and the developers may put it to bed already.

Epic Games and CD Projekt Red are also collaborating as the game developers will use Unreal Engine 5. It will cease to use REDengine moving forth.

'The Witcher' New Game is not a Sequel

According to CD Projekt Red's Global PR Director, the game is not "The Witcher 4," and he could not make it more straightforward. It is a direct confirmation that the new saga will not pick up on "The Witcher III: Wild Hunt," but something new and unknown to the public.

'The Witcher' and its Franchise

"The Witcher" saga from Polish Author Andrzej Sapkowski centered on a series that chronicled the story and adventures of Geralt of Rivia, the central character of the fiction. However, the series also focused on different critical characters like witches, kingdoms, kings and queens, and other mythical entities that presented themselves in the story.

However, the game is still centering on the role of Witchers in society, particularly in their job to exterminate monsters that threaten the existence of humans and other peaceful creatures. "The Witcher's" Netflix series also focused on the "Wild Hunt" story arc, a central storyline and plot for Geralt's adventures.

The franchise evolved from books to a game adaptation by CD Projekt Red to being a Netflix original series with Henry Cavill as the famous Geralt of Rivia. However, it seems that moving forward in the game saga, and it would not be the case for them.

It might be so that CD Projekt Red will focus on the early days of Geralt in School of the Wolf or other elements in the franchise.
