Xbox's direct Twitter sharing has been removed. Now, gamers are confused by Microsoft's decision to take away this game clip sharing function in its mobile sharing options.
For the past few years, Xbox players were able to share video clips of their gameplay on Twitter. Individuals who are familiar with Microsoft works claimed that the software giant removed the feature on Friday, Mar. 19.
They added that the direct Twitter sharing option for Xbox platforms is no longer available in the Xbox Dashboard.
Xbox's Direct Twitter Sharing No Longer Available?
According to Windows Central's latest report, it is still unclear whether the removal of the direct Twitter sharing feature is permanent or temporary.
But, one thing is for sure. Xbox players can no longer take advantage of this video game clip-sharing option. On the other hand, PlayStation and Nintendo platforms have no issue since they still have this function.
Although this is the case, you can still connect your Twitter account to your Xbox Live account. However, this feature is only available to use your Twitter user name for your Xbox Live profile.
As of the moment, some experts claim that removing the direct Twitter sharing option will only make matters worse for the current Xbox Game DVR.
For those who don't know this feature, Xbox Game DVR is a function that allows you to record your game activities. You can do this while you are playing to share your clips on Twitter and other platforms.
Why Microsoft Removed the Feature?
Microsoft hasn't revealed the exact reason why it removed the direct Twitter sharing option in the Xbox platform. However, VGC reported that the reason could be quite simple.
The software giant has always been removing features that its consumers do not really use. This means that the direct Twitter sharing feature might have a low usage record.
However, this will still remain speculation until Microsoft confirms the reason for the removal. As of the moment, the tech giant manufacturer is still enhancing its Xbox Game DVR.
"We have made some changes and we have made some improvements to the reliability and the quality of the captures but we know we still have work to do here," said Jason Ronald, the Program Management Director of Xbox.
In other news, Xbox and PS5 recently lost against Nintendo Switch when it comes to console sales. Meanwhile, "Hogwarts Legacy" is expected to arrive on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms.
