As per a news story by The Verge, the partnership between Spotify and FC Barcelona includes the rebrand of the massive and iconic stadium into Spotify Camp Nou.

It is also worth noting that it is the first time that the massive iconic stadium is entering a naming agreement since it historically opened way back in Sept. 1957.

On top of that, the multi-million agreement between the two also includes the name of Spotify on the jerseys of the teams of FC Barcelona, including its women's and men's teams.

The Spotify branding will be included on the jerseys of both teams beginning the 2022/2023 season.

What's more, according to a recent story by Sky Sports, the branding of Spotify is also going to be included in the training kit of the football club next season.

On top of that, the Barcelona football club once did not allow any jersey sponsors, but that has since changed in 2006, Sky Sports noted in the same news story.

The Verge said in the same report that the massive deal between Spotify and the football club is still awaiting the ratification of the Extraordinary Delegate Members Assembly of FC Barcelona. The voting event is going to conclude the deal this April 3.

However, the news outlet assumed that it could successfully get the ratification, noting that the football club has a billion-dollar debt.

The deal, which includes the naming right to the stadium, reportedly cost Spotify a whopping $310 million.

Meanwhile, the chief freemium business officer of Spotify, Alex Norstrom, himself said that the sponsorship of the streaming service gives them a chance to "amplify the work of artists."

The Spotify exec said that the latest partnership is bringing both "the world of music and football together," which in turn, provides both football players and music artists a global stage.
