Volkswagen ID. Buzz is now confirmed! The giant automaker is expected to start selling this advanced electric microbus in the United States in 2024.
VW launched revealed this new zero-emission vehicle on Wednesday, Feb. 9, during a virtual event. The German carmaker said that the new ID. Buzz is a remodeled version of its iconic Type 2 Microbus.
If you have already watched some movies about artists, you may have seen a small bus-like van with flowers, peace signs, and other color designs. That is the ID. Buzz, but with more advanced technologies.
Volkswagen ID. Buzz Arrives!
According to The Verge's latest report, Volkswagen already provided some hints regarding the arrival of its new electric microbus. The company has been teasing this EV model for the past five years.
The upcoming VW ID. Buzz is expected to be the commercialized version of another new electric microbus model, the ID. Buzz Cargo, which will be launched in Europe before 2022 ends.
But, it will have a longer wheelbase compared to ID. Buzz Cargo. Volkswagen is expected to debut its new ID. Buzz around 2023.
After that, the German automaker will sell its new electric microbus in the United States in 2024. As of the moment, the exact price of the new zero-emission car is still unknown.

Tech Crunch reported that the new Volkswagen ID. Buzz will have a 10-inch digital display, which is placed behind the steering wheel.
Below this screen, there will be a control bar with digital sliders and buttons. The touch sliders are designed to allow the driver to control the EV's temperature and volume.
On the other hand, the buttons will access driver assist, driver profiles, as well as parking functions. When it comes to the EV's power, VW ID. Buzz is integrated with a 150 kW electric motor that drives the rear axle.
