With the amount of crypto donations being made towards Ukraine increasing, it seems like one of the most popular NFT projects has also decided to pitch in. The Bored Ape Yacht Club has just decided to donate a massive $1 million worth of ETH towards Ukraine.
Bored Ape Yacht Club Donated to Ukraine
To be more specific, a tweet by The Moon detailed that the Bored Ape Yacht Club or BAYC, has just donated to Ukraine in Ethereum. The amount of Ethereum that was donated was exactly 388.999 ETH.
This, when converted with the current rate of Ethereum, results in $1,061,858.35 based on CoinBase's calculator. To add, the reason why the Bored Ape Yacht Club is extremely popular is actually because of the number of people who own it.
Why has the BAYC Grown in Popularity?
The reason why the BAYC NFT collection has grown in popularity, aside from the project itself, is the people that buy the NFT. From celebrities and musicians to businessmen, the all-star people that own BAYC are ever growing as of the moment.
A list was made by decrypt.co to show who really owns BAYC. While there are a lot of other owners, as of the moment, the most popular owners include Mark Cuban, Eminem, Paris Hilton, and more.
