Elden Ring is gaining more and more popularity mainly due to its difficulty even when it comes to enemies who are not considered as boss characters. With that said, you can just imagine how difficult it is to beat boss characters.
While other games allow players to formulate their own strategy to breeze through the first boss without much struggle, a shocking statistic said that only 55% of PC players were able to beat the first major boss.
Why is Elden Ring so Difficult?
According to a tweet by GameSpot, Elden Ring's director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, addressed the issue as to why the game was so difficult. Numerous gamers have been wondering why the studio decided to make the game as difficult as it currently is.
As per Miyazaki, a simple response was given regarding the difficulty of the Elden Ring game. The director simply said "it's our identity," putting all the surrounding talk regarding the game's difficult to rest.
Gamers Struggle to Beat Elden Ring's First Boss
As for those that have not played Elden Ring and do not think that it is really as difficult as some say it is, an article by TechRadar detailed how gamers are struggling to defeat the game's first boss.
The publication shared a link to the Steam Community achievement list of Elden Ring and although more people have been able to beat Margit the Fell Omen, the real stump is with Godrick the Grafted or Shardbearer Godrick.
How Many Players Have Beaten Godrick the Grafted?
As per the time of this writing, however, the number of gamers that have beaten Godrick the Grafted have increased from 55% to 56.4%. This, however, is an extremely low improvement as it represents only a little more than half of the current players.
Unlike other games, Elden Ring brings gamers into a different realm where everything seems to be strong enough to beat players in just one go. Even the earlier enemies that players bump into when starting out are already capable of defeating them in just a few hits.
How Elden Ring Compares to Other Games
An observation said that a lot of gamers are struggling with Elden Ring is actually because of them not being used to the difficulty level that the game presents. One reason for this is because some gamers got used to easy-to-win games.
Elden Ring requires not just skill but also patience as the game itself is designed to be as difficult as it is now.
With the studio claiming that the difficulty of the game is their identity, gamers might be able to expect the same amount of hardships in future games under Miyazaki.
