This is a massive increase compared to the recent record of the giant EV maker. Back in February 2021, the automaker was only able to sell 18,318 electric cars in China.
Now, the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) released new data, revealing that the carmaker was able to generate revenues after delivering 33,315 EV units to foreign territories outside China.
On the other hand, Tesla also sold 23,200 electric vehicles to local consumers.

Because of this massive increase, the giant EV maker is now one of China's premier automakers. However, it is still not the top carmaker in the Asian country.
As of the moment, the top car manufacturer in China is still BYD Auto Co., which has a wholesale figure of 87,473 this February alone.
Meanwhile, SAIC-GM-Wuling is in 2nd place since it was able to sell 26,046. This means that Tesla is now the third carmaker in China for sold units.
Aside from these three automakers, Geely (14,285 units sold locally) and Chery (10,271 units sold locally) are also included in China's 2022 premier automakers.
