Google's Pixel devices focus on a new feature that will allow users to type-to-talk or type in what they want to say on phone calls for those with no energy to speak. However, it will produce generic voices to the other end that will help in the experience. Still, it will convey the message the best it can, mainly when using the English language.
Google Pixel: Type to Talk Now Available for Calls to Others
Google released a new feature for Pixel detailed on its blog post, and it talks about the type to talk feature where users can respond with a computer-generated voice by only typing their words. No need to speak and for the other party to hear you, as Google will do this for the user via their Pixel phones without the hassle of producing words.
Imagine having this when addressing several necessities or problems without conveying an extreme emotion that one would typically show during a call.
The feature is helpful for many reasons, and it includes assistance to disabled people that have speech impediments and hardships. Additionally, it will focus on giving them a voice to address their needs, especially those that require to talk to customer service representatives about their different requirements and demands.
Pixel Type to Talk: Pixel to Pixel Only?
Google did not specify the type-to-talk if other users may experience it via phone calls on cellular networks, but what it showed on its demonstration video is that it is for Pixel to Pixel devices only. It would mute users who are typing and would enunciate the words after sending them to the call receiver.
Users can choose this option when making a call via the touchscreen features of the device. It will work from Pixel 3A to 5A, with the feature coming later this month for the Pixel 6 series.
Google Pixel Features
The Google Pixel is one of the unique smartphones of its generation, and it is because it received everything it features from Google, which is also the company that made the Android. Pixel was made for Android, and it features the best of what the operating system has to offer for its users, focusing on the many functions it provides.
Often, Android phones are compared to iPhones from Apple by its users, and several fan debates erupt on social media regarding this matchup. There have been reports circulating about why iPhones have more support than Android phones and how the Apple devices are more "premium" to different services online.
However, the Pixel phone aims to challenge that by focusing on a device that can do a lot.
Pixel's type-to-talk is one of the earliest features in smartphone history that offers this mode, where users can sit idly by when talking to another person. There would be no need to speak out of turn or get irritated when talking, as one can retract what they say by deleting the words before sending them to the other party.
