Experts claimed that the upgrade was launched to better compete against YouTube, which is its main competitor.

As of the moment, TikTok has become one of the most popular video platforms after the global COVID-19 pandemic began. It allowed people to entertain themselves by watching fun challenges or becoming contributors themselves.

Now, TikTok wants to step up its game by allowing users to post longer videos of their content.

TikTok 10-Minute Video Enhancement

According to Digital Information World's latest report, ByteDance, the developer of TikTok, already sent notifications to its consumers, telling them that the new enhancement is already available.

The app creator said that the new 10-minute offers something new to TikTok users across the globe. The upgrade is far from the first limit of the video app.

When TikTok was first launched, people could only post videos no longer than 15 seconds. Since this is very short, their creative content is limited.

However, ByteDance is still careful when expanding its app's video limit since it can attract more consumers or dissatisfy people, especially those who don't want to watch too long videos.

TikTok 10-Minute Limit Vs YouTube

Phone Arena reported that the latest TikTok enhancement was released strategically. Statista's previous study revealed that the average video length available on YouTube is only 11.7 minutes long.

Although YT allows users to post videos for more than an hour, content creators tend to publish around 11 minutes.

This is quite close to the new limit of TikTok, which is no more than 10 minutes. Since this is the case, experts concluded that TikTok is trying to attract the users of YouTube's fanbase.

Once this happens, it will allow ByteDance to generate more revenues. If you want to see further details about how the new 10-minute video limit will further help TikTok, you can visit this link.
