Xiaomi unveils its next-generation wireless charger, which serves as its own version of the Apple MagShare for iPhone.
The Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi, teased that it is joining the likes of Apple, and other Android phone makers, such as Realme and ZTE, in entering the wireless charger market.
Xiaomi's Own Apple MagShare Wireless Charger
Xiaomi announced that it is releasing a wireless charging device that flaunts both "small inductance," which should solve heating problems, and magnetic absorption, as per the news story by NotebookCheck.
The phone maker touted that its next-generation wireless charger will solve the problems that other manufacturers currently face, including the poor alignment of phones due to the magnet and loss of energy from heat.
Xiaomi claims that its own lineup of wireless chargers solves the issues of MagSafe and other counterparts with its magnets and coils that flaunt "17 rings."
On top of that, the magnetic absorption feature of the upcoming Xiaomi wireless charging could lift a phone without its users worrying about damaging their mobile devices from accidentally falling due to weak magnet.
It comes as Xiaomi said that its magnetic technology could carry up to 800 grams in total.
It is worth noting that most phones don't even go over 200 grams. For instance, the flagship smartphone of Apple, the iPhone 13, only weighs 141 grams. On the other hand, Xiaomi 12 is only at 180 grams, according to a report by GizmoChina.
Xiaomi Wireless Charger: What to Expect
NotebookCheck noted in the same report that there are two variations of the wireless charging accessory of Xiaomi. The first one is a thick charger that comes with active cooling technology, whereas the other one flaunts a slim design.
The slim version of the Xiaomi wireless charger could wireless charge a device for up to 30W. Thus, estimates suggest that it could top up a 5,000mAh battery in merely 86 minutes.
On the other hand, the thicker version comes with built-in cooling tech that could charge up to 50W. As such, it could charge the same battery significantly faster or up to 49 minutes, which is less than an hour.
The wireless charging tech of the Chinese phone maker reportedly comes with a cooling solution that pairs with a spinning fan. It should help cool down a smartphone by an impressive 20 degrees celsius in as fast as a minute.
Xiaomi has yet to announce the release date and the price tag details of these new wireless charging technology, which seeks to rival Apple's MagSafe.
