No-Code Startup Upflowy Raises $4M: Drag and Drop Web and Mobile App Tools

With the demand for web and mobile apps increasing and coding being the underlying roadblock for some enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, companies like Upflowy aim to streamline the process. In a recent round of funding, Upflowy was able to raise a whopping $4 million to further its SaaS product.

The Increase in Demand for SaaS Products

As per Upflowy CEO Guillaume Ang, SaaS products that work by enabling online transactions have increased dramatically during the pandemic. To add, Upflowy has its own tool that it thinks can help businesses to be able to generate "high-performing user flow."

According to the story by TechCrunch, the startup raised $4 million and has built a platform offering "drag and drop tools" to be used for A/B testing as well as personalization when it comes to web and mobile apps.

No-Code Approach to Developing Businesses

The competitive advantage that the company has is that businesses won't need to "know any code" in order to engage with their product. Counterpart Ventures led the latest funding in addition to other returning investors like Black Nova, Tidal, Global Founders Capital, and Antler.

A lot of businesses struggle when it comes to getting visitors on their websites or apps to sign in due to the significant requirement when it comes to time and cost. In order to help, Upflowy's Matthew Browne and Alexandre Girard founded the Australian startup in 2020.

Why the Startup Believes that Coding Shouldn't Get in the Way

As per the startup, it has been way too long that businesses have needed development and engineering teams in order to improve their products that they won't have enough time and resources to "support marketing endeavors."

A chunk of the capital will be used by the startup to help enhance its overall platform capabilities through data science areas leveraging, which includes developing more features and predictive personalization. In addition, the company is also planning to increase its headcount to more than 30 full-time employees in order to support the current team.

Hundreds of Businesses are Already Using Upflowy

Ang noted that there are already hundreds of businesses that are using Upflowy ranging from SaaS, B2B tech, and even healthcare to B2C companies, including national sports teams and fashion brands.

The startup has reportedly been able to see a 40% growth when it comes to its activation rates as well as doubling its "monthly user base" according to Ang. In addition, the article by TechCrunch notes that the pandemic acted as a catalyst to start the company as a "remote company from the beginning."

During Upflowy's early stages of 2020, "being a remote-first business was a fairly new concept", but the startup was able to source out talent coming from all around the world. With that, the company is due to set up a base in the United States in order for them to "increase its presence in the region."
