AirPods Pro and EarPods
Cleaning AirPods, AirPods Pro, and EarPods are quite the same since they almost have the same designs. Apple's official support page provided the simple steps to do so:
- First, use a lint-free cloth then make sure that now water or other liquid has entered the speakers or the openings.
- Gently clean those speakers using a dry cotton swab. Remove all the tiny debris until it is clean.
AirPods Max
- AirPods Max is quite tricky since you will need to use laundry detergent into a 250mL cup of water.
- After that, remove the cushions from the ear cups.
- When you clean the headband, hold your AirPods Max upside down to prevent liquid from flowing into the headband attachment point.
- After that, wipe the cushions and headband using a separate clean cloth. Leave them separated for almost a day before you reattach them.
- Remember, don't ever use your AirPods Max until it is completely dried off. Make sure that the wearable device no longer have any liquid on its cushions and headband. This will prevent possible serious damages.
If you follow the provided steps above correctly, you will certainly have no issues on your beloved AirPods models.
