Actress Naya Rivera revealed on Tuesday's episode of The View her theory on hygiene. The Glee star believes that showering daily is "such a white people thing."
"I have to say I have a theory about showering, [which] is that I think that white people shower a lot more than ethnics," she said. "I feel like showering more than once a day or every day is such a white people thing."
The shocking claim came after Nicole Wallace started the day off "clean" by saying that she showers once before the show, once after and another time before bed.
After Rivera's theory, co-host Rosie O'Donnell immediately pointed to a women in the audience who appeared to be just as shocked by the statement. "Look, there is an African-American woman right there in a yellow shirt that is about to have a heart attack," she said.
The 28-year-old explained to the audience that her mother is half-black and half-Puerto Rican and follows good hygiene by showering daily, but cited that dermatologists recommend showering only once or twice every three days. "So I'm right on the mark," Rivera added.
"But I can say that I am now married to a white man, and he showers a lot. Like a lot, two, three times a day. I'm like, 'What are you doing," she said in regards to actor Ryan Dorsey, who she married last year.
