Signal is one of the most trusted messaging applications across the globe. Its sudden popularity began when Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, said that it is safer compared to WhatsApp and other messaging platforms.
"Now, we've added the ability to preconfigure all conversations you initiate with a default disappearing messages timer," said the giant app developer via its Signal.Org blog post.
Aside from the new default function, users can also choose how they want the message to last in their inbox. Recently, Signal's Disappearing Messages could only be set on predefined delay options.
Now, all you need to do is type in the delay frame you want to use.
Although the messaging platform's security feature seems to be trustworthy, Signal confirmed that it is not 100% effective in protecting your sensitive messages.
In other news, Google Maps trended after a prankster released an image, claiming that it is the popular Loch Ness Monster photo. On the other hand, Firefox 91 also received enhanced cookie clearing and other advanced features.
Making Signal's Disappearing Messages as Default Feature
