A YouTuber has found a way to dispose of junk mail without going very far from your mailbox, quite a fast way to discard unwanted letters.
Even with email and all the messaging apps and software available these days, there are still times we get mail via the mailbox. Sometimes, much of the letters you receive are junk mail that will just take up space on the counter or wherever it is you put them.
YouTuber Creates Mailbox With Built-In Shredder
YouTuber Matt Benedetto is the man behind the YouTube channel called "Unnecessary Inventions." The "Unnecessary Inventions" YouTube channel features videos of Benedetto creating, well, unnecessary inventions that he came up with. One of his inventions, however, is looking a lot more necessary than advertised.
Despite all the apps and software such as Gmail that has allowed people to send messages and other things online, some still do it the old-fashioned way by sending letters to your mailbox.
In a video, Benedetto shows how he fashioned a mailbox so that it features a built-in shredder that allows you to take junk mail out of the mailbox and straight into the shredder. A plastic bag is attached underneath to catch all of the shredded paper.
Be careful what you shred or throw away though. Sometimes, your mailbox can contain more than just junk mail, like the time Valprak sent $100 checks to random mailboxes in 2018. You would not want to shred things like that for sure.
As of writing, the YouTube video posted in the "Unnecessary Inventions" channel has more than 135,000 views and nearing 400 comments.
Some of the comments on the YouTuber's video even have suggestions for Benedetto.
A YouTube user named Mason Dickinson said, "Waterproof it and make it solar powered and you'd make a killing."
Another YouTube user named David Vecchio suggested that Benedetto should create another YouTube channel called "Absolutely Necessary Inventions."
Redditors React
The video of YouTuber Matt Benedetto's mailbox with a built-in shredder has been shared on Reddit as well. In the r/DidntKnowIWantedThat subreddit, Reddit users have been reacting to the so-called unnecessary invention.
"His 'fake products' are becoming more wanted," according to a Reddit user going by the handle uwantSAMOA.
Reddit user swim08 wonders if Benedetto is running out of ideas for his "Unnecessary Inventions" channel because he actually made something useful.
Benedetto's Other 'Unnecessary Inventions'
YouTuber Matt Benedetto's "Unnecessary Inventions" channel is filled with his inventions and life hacks that he deems unnecessary.
Among his latest inventions include Crocs-inspired underwear, never-ending rotating chopsticks, and a device that removes bad pizza toppings.
His videos that feature so-called unnecessary life hacks include how to get the last Pringles chip out of the can the easiest way possible and how to take a mirror selfie anywhere.
