"Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy" has released new game footage, and it shows a cinematic approach to the new characters, as well as its big baddie, Lady Hellbender. Lady Hellbender is not a "Guardians of the Galaxy's" main comic antagonist. However, she was the selected one for the game, as she is an extraterrestrial capable of giving the Guardians a tough time.
Square Enix has had the pleasure to publish some of Marvel's modern games adopted from the comic book to the digital platform. It borders on an action RPG, which is fitting for games like this, as it heavily follows a storyline or lore from comics, giving users the chance to be heroes.
'Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy' New Cinematic Footage
"Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy" is the game that people did not ask for, but comes at a time where there is a lack of hero-centered games for consoles and PC.
Not much has been revealed about the game, only that it would center on the 2nd-generation or the modern Guardians of the Galaxy including Peter Quill's Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Gamora, and Drax the Destroyer.
However, an intriguing new character has been revealed and it is Lady Hellbender, which recently had a spot on the game's cinematic footage, courtesy of Eidos-Montreal.
Lady Hellbender shows a horrifying appearance, and her sinister plot against the Guardians would most likely bring a twist to the group's relationship. Plus it is exciting to see the popular villain bring mayhem to these heroes, alongside her collection of beasts and creatures known to be bred for arena or gladiator battles.
No Gameplay Footage for GOTG?
The cinematic footage gives the public a better look at what to expect from the game, but mostly on its storyline and content, especially to what arc of the comic it is adapting. However, for game-centered users, it does not say much, rather, nothing at all as it delivers nothing on gameplay footage.
While that is not much of an issue and would help in maintaining its mystery but at the same time bring content, some players prefer to see the environment they would control or test out.
It might be so that the "Guardians of the Galaxy" would resemble that of "The Avengers," and that was known to have mixed reviews from the public.
When are Guardians of the Galaxy Releasing?
While it is a blessing in disguise, it comes from the same publishing company, Square Enix, making it identical to another release they had with "Marvel's The Avengers."
Despite differing in developers and designers, it managed to look the same, and it might be that a crossover or collaboration would happen soon.
Before any thoughts of a crossover of both games, gamers would need to focus on the game's release date which has been revealed for October 26, or the fall season. This only suggests that the game is on its final versions of editing, or might be so that it is already finished.
Hopefully, "The Avengers" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" open opportunities for more Marvel games to be developed for console, as the MCU has popularized the comic book stories.
