The PlayStation 5's drought would soon be over, as Sony said it has secured processors amidst this chip shortage. As such, the company can manufacture and deliver consoles soon. On the other hand, there are PS5 restocks that is happening this week from Best Buy, Walmart, and other retailers, but not everyone is guaranteed a purchase due to limited stocks.
It was known that Sony and Microsoft had a hard time delivering stocks of the PS5 and Xbox Series X when it was first launched in 2020. The chip shortage problem has transcended over to 2021, where people are still on the hunt for the latest consoles from the company.
Sony Secures Chip for PlayStation 5 Manufacturing
It is official now, and Sony's Chief Financial Officer Hiroki Totoki said (via Reuters) that chips for the PlayStation 5 have been secured, well enough not to see a shortage in the coming months. This came together with the company's quarterly report, which saw a massive boost thanks to the PS5 despite the shortage.
Users would no longer need to worry and fight over restocks says Sony's corporate, as the company would soon bring it for everyone, having an abundance of stock once it releases. However, for now, people which want the console needs to wait for its availability from Sony's Direct Website, and other retail stores.
