Evolve is only a month away, and that means it is time for post-launch downloadable content announcements! Yes, this is the sad state of the game industry, but now we do have more details on the title's first DLC monster -- the Behemoth.
A massive creature that looks like it is made up of slabs of rock, the Behemoth is the tankiest of Evolve's terrifying beasts, able to absorb a huge amount of punishment. But just because it is a giant living boulder doesn't mean Behemoth is slow. While the Behemoth is better equipped to stand and fight than Evolve's other beasties, the creature does have some mobility options, such as when it transforms into a ball armadillo style and rolls around the environment.
"Behemoth is a tank of a Monster that becomes a giant, destructive boulder and rolls through the environment for quick traversal," Turtle Rock's Chris Ashton tells Game Informer. "He has the most armor, the largest pool of health, and packs the biggest punch of any Monster in Evolve, making Behemoth extremely dangerous in close quarters."
Whereas other creatures rely on their speed and mobility to ambush their prey, the Behemoth prefers to find stretches of open ground where its rolling ability can be used to greater effect. In addition to rolling away from or into combat, the Behemoth also has a number of additional abilities at its disposal. Tongue grab lets the Behemoth snatch a hunter from a distance for some up close and personal punishment, while two other abilities -- rock wall and lava bomb -- let the monster control the movements of the hunters by blocking off escape points or cornering stragglers.
