The Apple AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro 2 are some of the much-awaited wearable devices, and numerous reports have already surfaced about their specs and new builds.
Despite the endless rumors, there is still no solid basis on their release dates yet.
However, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and veteran leaker @FronTron on Twitter have several details to spill about the devices' debut dates.
AirPods 3 Launch Date
In a tweet, @FronTron spilled that the Apple AirPods 3 will finally launch in the third quarter of 2021.
The device could debut as early as July. However, it could also mean that the new installment to the AirPods series will come by September, which is the season for Apple's annual event.
According to Fossbytes, the AirPods 3 will have a different design, and additional vital features, including bells and whistles that will thoroughly improve the Apple user experience.
The report suggested that AirPods 3's new design will be more similar to its bigger sister, the AirPods Pro. It will have a shorter stem than before. But despite its new design adaptation, the device will most likely stick to its original tips, unlike the silicon tips that users get with the AirPods Pro variant.
AirPods Pro 2 Release Date
On the other hand, Apple Insider reported that popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo released a note to investors on June 30. Kuo believed that the giant iPhone manufacturer will launch a 2nd-gen AirPods Pro, which will be called AirPods Pro 2.
@FronTron stated that it might debut as early as the 2nd quarter of 2022, ranging from April to June.
It seems that the AirPods Pro 2 will be revamped to its total capacity to ensure that users will get the most out of the device.
Apple Insider also reported that the AirPods Pro 2 will most likely ditch its predecessor's stem to make way for an ear bud-like layout. It could result in a sleeker, thinner AirPods case and easier ways to secure the device in the users' ears.
Kuo stated that despite the lack of innovative experience that AirPods Pro 2 will offer in 2022, the company's TWS device shipment would go back to being over 100 million in 2022.
Apple AirPods: Performance in the Market
Well-known analyst Kuo forecasted that AirPods shipment would be around 75 million units because of the lower than expected demand for the device as seen in 2021's second quarter.
But still, Apple continued to outperform other wireless headphones in the market. However, it seems like other competitors are slowly chipping away Apple's lead.
What to Expect on AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro 2?
Tron tweeted that AirPods might still have a plastic component, which is a "tragedy for the environment."
It countered Apple's claim of "going green" in line with the iPhone 12 series' absent charging bricks.
The new AirPods might also utilize a new chip from Apple. Fossbytes expects the chip to support Apple's latest feature: the Apple Lossless Music. If so, users will enjoy the hi-fidelity sound with a pair of AirPods and a subscription to Apple Music.
