"Halo Infinite" developers are aiming for a holiday 2021 release for the game, according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer.
Spencer clarified that the team behind the next release in the franchise is "very committed" to a holiday release date during a recent interview.
"Halo Infinite" made an appearance during E3 2011 but fans took note of the lack of a release date. This once more led to concerns that the game was going to be delayed yet again. The game was previously scheduled for a holiday 2020 release, but was delayed until 2021.
According to IGN, this was due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the mixed reaction to the first gameplay reveal.
Halo Infinite Release Date: When Will It Be?
Addressing the concerns regarding a potential second delay, Spencer said that the lack of a release date is "not because a delay of months is possible, but because a delay of a few weeks is possible."
He also added in the interview that developers of "Halo Infinite" are looking at a three to four week range for the game's release date. Other game timings are also being considered in making a final decision.
Ultimately, the developers "feel good" about having a holiday release this year.
