'The Great Ace Attorney' New Gameplay Brings 2 Japan-Exclusive Content, Prequel to Phoenix Wright, and MORE from E3

"The Great Ace Attorney" was recently revealed in E3 2021, featuring a prequel to the popular "Ace Attorney" series from Capcom. The prequel title brings new gameplay from Capcom, particularly two Japan exclusives from the game, featuring the origins and backstory before the Phoenix Wright saga. Moreover, it would feature the popular "Dance of Deduction," and "Summation Examination."

The popular detective-slash-lawyer would not be where he is today if it was not for his beginnings in court, and a prequel is a perfect way to explain this to the audience, without the need for a storytime. What is more iconic with "The Great Ace Attorney" is that it brings a storyline before the popular Phoenix Wright and his adventures on each case.

The past decades have captured the popularity of the "Ace Attorney" series in known Nintendo consoles, like the 3DS and Nintendo Switch. However, "Ace Attorney" is not limited to these, especially as the popular visual novel game is known to be on the mobile platforms of iOS and Android, back when mobile gaming is at its peak and popularity.

Capcom has released two trailers for the game, namely the New Features trailer and the E3 showcase trailer that highlights the new gameplay content for the upcoming title.

The great thing about "The Great Ace Attorney" is that it would feature 10 cases in total, and is composed of additional mini-episodes on its belt. Moreover, the iconic thing here is that it would feature two Japanese exclusives known as "The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures," and "The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve."

This would play during the early 19th century and focuses on the ancestors of Phoenix Wright, long before he and Apollo Justice has arrived to defend the criminal proceedings. Included here is the mnemonic of the popular London-based inspector from the late 19th and early 20th century, Sherlock Holmes, rather, Herlock Sholmes in the game.

Additionally, it would focus on two new tools for the "Ace Attorney" series, which somehow resembles the skills of the popular Phoenix Wright.

Dance of Deduction

The Dance of Deduction would feature the game's protagonist named Ryunosuke Naruhodo (ancestor of Phoenix Wright), that would meet up with Herlock Sholmes in London to know if a witness is lying. From here, the gamers would be presented with numerous truths and lies, which they need to deduce and determine to solve the case.

Summation Examination

On the other hand, the Summation Examination would focus more on the courtroom, particularly on the jurors who stand witness to the ongoing trial. The goal here is to reason out with the jurors to prolong the trial, and hopefully, get them to agree with Ryunosuke and favor out the case.

The challenge would be a 50/50 case of jurors, getting harder and more challenging as personal bias is brought into court.

"The Great Ace Attorney" is scheduled for release on July 27.
