The sought-after McDonald's BTS Meal came out on May 26. Fans of the South Korean superstars are in for a treat for a limited time, and they're going crazy about it. However, resellers in Malaysia are taking advantage of the latest fad, and sold empty packaging online for RM60 or around $15.
Well, not all listings are empty, The Star Malaysia reported.
For instance, one sold the BTS-themed and purple-colored empty paper bag, nugget box, paper cup, and, inside the pieces of packaging, are two sauces for the McNuggets. A disclaimer in the post on the e-commerce website Shopee wrote that the expiration of the dip is in August 2021.
McDonald's x BTS
The collaboration between McDonald's and BTS comes a few days after the K-pop superstars launched their English single called "Butter." In the past, the boy band's song "Dynamite" was once the most viewed video online in 24 hours.
Currently, the United States, Canada, the Bahamas, and other countries globally have the new K-themed meal at the American fast-food chain, USA Today reported.
When bought directly from McDonald's, the BTS Meal is supposed to include the following: medium fries, medium Coke, 10 pieces of Chicken McNuggets, and Sweet Chill and Cajun dipping sauces - a first for the U.S. at least.
The limited-edition dip, which a seller sold together with empty packaging, is based on South Korea's sauce.
Furthermore, BTS fans have until June 20 to enjoy the limited edition meal in the U.S. Other 50 countries, likewise, will enjoy the K-themed nuggets meal from May to June.

Other Listing of Empty Mcdonald's BTS Meal Packaging
The Star Malaysia also wrote that some listings are not as expensive as mentioned above. Sweet Chili and Cajun sauce may have been the basis of the reseller to skyrocket the price.
On the flip side, other sellers on Shopee, an e-commerce marketplace popular in the country, only offer the set sans the dip. It costs from $4 to $5 or RM15 to RM20 in Malaysia. At that price, some resellers added free BTS merchandise; to probably kill off other competitors posting a similar listing.
The cheapest listing, however, could be found on Carousell, another online marketplace, that sold at around $2. As the competition tightens, another reseller even removed the crumples from the paper bag. Probably to convince buyers to purchase.
The price of the Mcdonald's BTS Meal, at least in the U.S., is at the tune of $6.13. To clarify, it contains nuggets, coke, fries, and limited-edition sauce.
