Xbox Series X restock and PS5 restock simultaneously drop. For those that are still trying their luck out at purchasing either an Xbox Series X restock or a PS5 restock, a recent drop had both the competing consoles come out at the same time. While this does not normally happen as of lately, the console dropped not only at the same time but also at the same online retailer.
Xbox Series X Restock and PS5 Restock
Although both of them were sold at the same time, there were still only a few buyers that were able to purchase the console as it remains scarce due to scalpers and the global chip crisis. In basic economics, the higher the demand and the scarcer the supply, the more prone an item or product is to shortage.
This is exactly what is happening with the Xbox Series X restock and PS5 restock as a lot of gamers are trying their best to purchase the console but run out of luck due to scalpers using bots to put in their orders for them. Imagine competing with a machine that automatically punches orders. Hard, right?
Next-Gen Console Availability
What scalpers usually do is they have bots that automatically refresh certain online retailers and alert the moment that new PS5 online stock or Xbox Series X online stock becomes available. One way for buyers to potentially beat scalpers is by following a Xbox Series X restock tracker or a PS5 restock tracker on Twitter.
A Xbox Series X restock Twitter account or a PS5 restock Twitter account automatically gives notifications whenever new stock appears on different online retailers. Just recently, two prominent trackers have given updates on new Xbox Series X stock online as well as PS5 stock online at the same time.

PS5 and Xbox Series X Sales
Basically, the stock has become available on a single online retailer at the same time. This is a rare occurrence since the drops for the two respective consoles rarely happen at the same time. This begs the question whether or not this will become a more common occurrence in the future.
The numbers for the PS5 sales and Xbox Series X have not yet been tallied since it is hard to do so as of the moment since buyers are there but the supply is missing. Once the supply ramps up, which according to Sony will be well until at least the second half of next year, buyers will finally be able to see whether the public prefers the Xbox Series X over the PS5 or vice versa.
As of the moment, one disappointing occurrence is the consoles being sold in bundles. Bundles are generally more expensive but the problem is really that they might contain things that buyers are not interested in. Some buyers actually prefer to buy from scalpers instead of bundles noting they actually save more due to the exclusion of additions they might not use.
