Facebook Couple-Focused App 'Tuned' is Now Available for Beta Test--But Would it Require Two Phone Numbers for Access?

Facebook's newest app "Tuned" which is made for couples is now up for all Android users. The app has been previously teased and at the moment, you could access its content together with your soulmate.

It was in April 2020 when Tuned was introduced as a fancy-looking site. At the time, it was only exclusive to iOS users in the United States and Canada.

Now, the couple-friendly app works like a virtual room for the one true pair. Like a typical dating website, it features a chat room for the couple, as well as the permission to utilize the shareable music and photos with each other.

Besides that, users can also organize the calendar ahead of their rendezvous. The couples can also enjoy an expansive timeline of memories that they have shared.

Facebook 'Tuned' Could Be a Potential Social Dating App

According to an article written by Gadgets 360, the Tuned App can be compared to other couple-centered apps such as Couply and Between.

When you happen to get lost in Google Play Store, you might find Tuned's Android version that was listed there. Android Police was the first insider to discover this app in the digital online distributing service.

However, what appears to be a potential listing stays unclear at the moment. Several users have learned that when they visited the Play Store, the requested URL for Tuned is not found on the server.

For those who have found the listing in the store, the description seems to be lacking in full details specifically the information about the users' privacy. We could assume that Facebook could release its ad-targeted policies in Tuned soon.

According to the report, the app is now available for Beta testing. Regardless if you are a Facebook user or not, you can freely open the beta access through the use of phone numbers--not one--but two of them.

The reason why two contact numbers are required for the process is that Tuned will not allow you to enter the beta pass unless you send an invitation to your lover.

Through Apple's App Store, iOS users could now download Tuned.

"A private space where you and your significant other can just be yourselves. With Tuned, you can be as mushy, quirky, and silly as you are together in person, even when you're apart. Creatively express your love, share your mood, exchange music, and build a digital scrapbook of your special moments," a description from Facebook's New Product Experimentation (NPE) team reads.

The Origins of Facebook Tuned App

During the summer of 2019, Facebook's NPE has come up with the idea of creating an ever-lasting app for couples. The team was eyeing a useful app that will have a big impact on all consumers in the world of social media.

In the same year, Facebook's NPE has even created a meme-making tool and a Pinterest-like app that is perfect for organizing photos and saving them.

However, the creative crew said that if their soon-to-release apps will not go well with Facebook, they would be "shutting them down" since they do not contribute any essence to its users.
