Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Leaks: Wider Screen with 120Hz 'In and Out' for 4K Viewing Pleasure

Samsung has been secretive about the development of their foldable and flip phones, but leaks are active to snoop about the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which is now speculated to bring 120Hz of viewing pleasure to the table. Not only that, but it would also play nicely alongside its wider screen and brighter colors, all a part of its ultra-thin 4K plastic display.

Foldable phones were initially a bust for Samsung, especially as the initial iterations of the Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold have its screens cracking and unable to click the icons or apps with its touch screen. However, Samsung has been solving the problem and is somehow leading the market of foldable phones with its continuous release of new devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold both have the same release dates of September, and it is speculated that it would observe the same timeline for 2021, following last year's Sep. 18 release. Both phones fall under the same categories of foldable, which would present the latest technology by Samsung's display on the massive phone.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Leaks: First Look

Popular and trusted Twitter leaker "Ice universe" (@UniverseIce) has recently released a photo that suggested the look of the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 which is coming in September. The new device delivers a stunning look of vibrant colors that are known to be the trademark of Samsung phones, due to its Super AMOLED display.

However, it is not yet known whether Samsung is giving the Fold 3 an AMOLED, especially as different tech has been around like the OLED, mini-LED, and others. Moreover, it was also speculated to bring plastic to the table, for a more durable folding experience compared to glass which is prone to cracking or breaking off.

Additionally, a discussion reply to Ice Universe's tweets says that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be a wider smartphone than what was depicted in the image above. This suggests that Samsung would be changing more of the foldable phone than what is known to them, particularly its size and performance.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Leaks: 120Hz

On the other hand, one of the first specifications released by Ice Universe for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the presence of a 120Hz screen, which is said to be "in and out." This means that it would fully utilize the fluid and smooth display of the Z Fold 3 to deliver the fastest refresh rate there is for smartphones and devices.

The Z Fold 2 is known to only have a 60Hz of refresh rate and if this leak is true, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 could look at twice the display performance on its screens alone. The upgraded refresh rate could potentially make Z Fold 3 appealing to the consumer's eyes, especially as it offers unique performance for both video and gaming.
