PlayStation fans are in for a treat with the latest State of Play event, because it's going to prominently feature classic PS heroes Ratchet and Clank making their next-gen debut.
Kotaku reports that Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will be the focus of the next instalment of Sony PlayStation's State of Play. After seeing all the short trailers and teasers, fans will be getting their best look yet at the upcoming PS5 exclusive during the event. According to multiple sources, State of Play will be showcasing "extended gameplay" for the next Ratchet and Clank title.
The official PlayStation blog reveals that the next-gen Ratchet and Clank will introduce a new character, Rivet. She is a female Lombax from another dimension, who joins the two protagonists in exploring brand-new locations such as Nefarious City, as well as alternate dimension versions of Torren IV and Sargasso. Revamped gameplay mechanics, as well as new weapons, are also going to be showcased.
Fans both new and old will get to see more of Ratchet and Clank's new adventures coming April 29th.

Who Is Rivet, And What Can She Do?
As a lot of people might already know, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart's main story will focus on dimension-hopping escapades perpetrated by the main villain Dr. Nefarious. In it, the main heroes get sucked into a portal that sends them into an alternate version of their world where Nefarious and his evil schemes always succeed.
But in this new reality, there's another Lombax who's fighting Nefarious: Rivet. PlayStation uploaded a trailer on April 26th showing that Rivet basically can do what Ratchet can, but with a few tweaks. The full extent of her abilities isn't known yet, however, but this can actually be answered when State of Play reveals more information on the PS5 exclusive.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is one of the most anticipated releases of the current PlayStation generation, alongside the likes of Horizon: Zero Dawn 2 and more. With the release of these titles, Sony will have an absolutely tough-to-beat lineup.
Sony PlayStation State Of Play: What Else Can Gamers Expect?
Ratchet and Clank will not be the only ones highlighting State of Play, though. Sony PlayStation will likely reveal more tidbits about a few imminent AAA releases as well.
God of War fans are going to scream their lungs out if Sony brings out the red carpet for the reboot, originally called God of War: Ragnarok. Expected to come to the PS5 sometime this year, the game is developed by the Sony Santa Monica Studio and will be pulling more cues from Norse Mythology just like God of War 2018, reports Polygon.
Aside from Ragnarok, there's also a possibility for Horizon: Zero Dawn 2 (aka Forbidden West) to make an appearance, as well as Ghostwire: Tokyo. The highly-anticipated Resident Evil Village, which just released another demo, is also expected to show up with another trailer or gameplay showcase.
This next State of Play event is going to be an amazing one, so don't miss it.
