Electronic Arts has announced that its mobile studio Industrial Toys is currently working with DICE to release a new "Battlefield" game for mobile devices. The mobile "Battlefield" game is targeting a 2022 launch date.
'Battlefield' Mobile Version
The mobile version of the "Battlefield" game is still untitled, but it is said to be a standalone game built from the ground-up to bring the "Battlefield" all-out warfare experience to smartphones and tablets. DICE is still developing a next-gen "Battlefield" game for PC and consoles.
In a blog post, Oskar Gabrielson, the General Manager of DICE, stated that the upcoming mobile version of "Battlefield" is ready to move forward after years of prototyping.
Gabrielson reminded the fans that it is a standalone game, which means it is a completely different game from the one that they are making for console and for PC.

This is designed specifically for the mobile platform. He added that this will be a fully-fledged, skill-based game that is now entering its testing period.
The hallmarks of a "Battlefield" game include highly destructible environments, massive player counts, and vehicles, so fans are hoping that these elements will make an appearance on the game's mobile version.
Next-gen Battlefield game
As for the game's next-gen version, Gabrielson gave a bit of an update.
He said that the upcoming game is currently in development at DICE with help from Criterion and DICE LA to help create this shared version of the game. A tech team in Gothenburg is also improving the underlying technology for the video game.
the DICE officer also stated that they are in daily playtesting mode and they are busy polishing, balancing, and making the best possible "Battlefield" game that they could. He added that this is a bold step and it has everything that fans love about the franchise, and then taking all of that to the next level.
Gabrielson said that the next-gen game is on a different scale, with all-out military warfare and unexpected moments.
It will have game-changing destruction, massive battles, and it will be packed with more players and mayhem than the previous version. This will be brought to life with the power of next-gen PCs and consoles.
"Battlefield" has typically been an annual franchise for Electronic Arts, but following "Battlefield 5," DICE took the series back to the drawing board and announced that it would take an additional year before releasing the next "Battlefield" game. It is currently set to be released in 2022.
What is Battlefield About?
The "Battlefield" series games focus on massive, online multiplayer battles. Playing in squads has become a major element of games in the series, according to The Verge.
Since "Battlefield 2," the series centrally recorded online stats for each player, allowing users to get rank promotions and even weapon unlocks based on their performance, as well as awards like medals, ribbons, and even pins.
