Teaser photos and videos for the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition have finally been released, and Xiaomi fans are getting ready for the upcoming launch on Apr. 27 in China.
Xiaomi confirmed a few of the specs rumored about the gaming-centric smartphone, and surprised fans with the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition's metallic finish and mystifyingly addicting retractable shoulder keys.
Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition Retractable Shoulder Keys
The K40 Game Enhanced Edition teaser video, which Redmi posted on Thursday, Apr. 22, demos the gaming smartphone's retractable shoulder keys and fans are finding it satisfying to watch.
The shoulder keys would pop up on each side of the gaming smartphone using a toggle sitting beside it, and its click delivers a crisp sound that people are enjoying.
The teaser even boasts the additional feature, hinting that it could be used as a fidget toy without worrying that it would break, adding that the shoulder keys could endure up to 1.5 million clicks.
Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition's Confirmed Tech Specs
On Apr. 21, Redmi officially announced the K40 Game Enhanced Edition and confirmed that it will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset.
According to GizmoChina's report on Apr. 22, the 6nm node processor is packed with four Cortex-A55 cores at 2GHz, three Cortex A78 cores at 2.6GHz, and one Cortex A78 core running at 3GHz.
Another teaser posted boasts that the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition garnered a total of 724,495 points in an AnTuTu benchmarking, assuring fans that the gaming smartphone would deliver an excellent gaming performance.
Xiaomi has not yet released an official statement about the gaming smartphone's body, but the teaser video shows that it will come with a metallic frame and the back panel with a glass finish that usually allows for wireless charging.
Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition Expectations
The Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition's display is believed to have a 6.67-inch AMOLED Full HD+ screen, unlike Xiaomi's earlier gaming smartphone with a 6.39-inch OLED display.
The 2400x1080p screen will also showcase a 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate that also supports a 300Hz touch sampling rate.
The Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition is also expected to come with a 64-megapixel primary Sony IMX686 camera sensor, and the teaser video shows that it will be placed on its dual-array camera.
Other rumors speculate that it would run on Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 custom skin out of the box, and may launch a "Standard Edition" alongside the Enhanced Edition.
An earlier report revealed that the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition could come with a battery higher than 5,000 mAh with a 67W fast charger, and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
The Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition has not been officially priced yet, as well as its global release.
