Apple has been the talk of the town lately with their amazing upcoming releases. But at their "Spring Loaded" event last April 20th, they revealed something awesome with their new iPad Pro.

Called the "Center Stage," the feature, which was a highlight of the new and improved iPad Pro launching April 30th, is likely something that will catch the eye of people who do vlogging, streaming, and video conferencing on a regular basis, reports TheNextWeb. It is made possible due to the tablet's powerful ultra-wide-angle camera, and the feature itself is pretty neat.

What Is Center Stage And What Does It Do, Exactly?

We're not going to talk iPad Pro specs because by now, you've probably already know what kind of tech is powering the new tablet from Apple. But if you love having high-quality cameras on your mobile devices, then you're in the right place.

So, what is Center Stage on the new Apple iPad Pro, and what does it do? Well, the tablet's 12-megapixel TrueDepth front camera can automatically zoom in and pan during a video call. This makes sure that the subject, which is you, stays in the middle of the frame, cites TechRadar.

In other words, once you turn on the new iPad Pro's camera, you can't hide from it-it will follow you. It sounds a little bit awkward, but it can be a pretty useful feature in this age of Zoom calls and Google Meets.

Aside from that, the feature also expands or zooms in on its own whenever other people join or leave the video call. Lastly, Center Stage is designed to work well with video conferencing apps like Zoom or FaceTime right out of the box, as reported by MacRumors.

Why Would You Want It?

As you all know, we're in a pandemic and everybody is stuck working from home. Video call applications such as Zoom and even good old Skype experienced a massive surge in usage, and a feature like the Apple Center Stage on the new iPad Pro can be a nifty thing that can make video calls more efficient and less boring. Everyone knows that people tend not to pay attention in Zoom meetings, which isn't a good thing if companies are trying to disseminate crucial information about their goings-on.

Center Stage on the iPad Pro can make a video call more enticing due to a simple scientific fact. According to a paper published by students from Harvard University and the University of Illinois, human eyes are way more sensitive to movement, and that moving stimuli are very effective at capturing attention.

Now put that in a Zoom call situation where you're the person who needs to keep talking (and needs people to listen), the auto-pan and zoom-in feature will allow the speaker to do more to make the people pay attention, than just sit in front of the camera, speak for hours, and bore people to death. In fact, it's also likely going to help the listeners who, at some point, might experience something known as "Zoom Fatigue."

Apple has been working really hard behind the scenes, and the upcoming iPad Pro is sure to excite a lot of old and new techies alike, especially with Center Stage's potential in helping with at-home productivity.
