Android's latest security patch is coming to selected Samsung Galaxy flagship devices this April 2021, as per GSM Arena's report on Monday, Mar. 29.
The latest news makes Samsung the first to release Android security patches for its smartphones for the fifth consecutive month.
The release is also ahead of Google's very own Pixel devices, which generally receive Android updates on the first Monday of every month.
Google will deploy the new Android OTA to the Samsung Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Note10 series, and the Galaxy Z Fold2 series.
Despite receiving the same security patches, the devices will not be seeing the same changes.
While it is still unknown when the software update will be officially released, users may manually check for the update by going to Settings, Software Update, and then tapping on Download to start with the installation.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Series Updates
SamMobile revealed on Monday, Mar. 29, that Samsung's latest flagship lineup would receive a significant security update this coming April, which includes camera and performance improvements.
The news proves that despite being hailed as having one of the best smartphone cameras in the market, Samsung consistently improves the camera quality and adds more features to the Galaxy S21 series.
The software update, which has a download size of over 1GB, will allow the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra to use the regular camera to capture portraits.
Prior to the update, the Galaxy S21 series can only use the Portrait mode with either the telephoto camera or the ultrawide camera.
Google's Android may have included other camera performance improvements, but it remains unknown at this time.
The software update for the Galaxy S21 series was reportedly spotted in India, but other regions may expect to get the update in the coming days.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Series Updates
XDA-Developers said that the latest software update for the Galaxy Note10 series had been spotted rolling out in Germany.
The update, which is identified by version number N97xFXXU6FUCD, will be available on Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Note 10+, and the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G.
The details of the security update are still unknown, but the package's very name suggests it is more than just simple vulnerability fixes.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Updates
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2's latest software update was also spotted rolling out in both Germany and Russia.
Identified by version number F916BXXU1DUCE, the foldable smartphone will also receive several enhancements targeting the camera system.
According to SamMobile's report on Monday, Mar. 29, the said camera improvements are still unknown; it could be anything such as a bit of stability boost or better ISO performance in low-light conditions.
